Share the love…

Hey crew,

I want to do some blog link swapping. I’m sure there are some super cool folks reading my blog and I’d love to  know it. If you are a reader here introduce yourself to me. Tell me what you do and give me your blog link. When I link you, I’ll comment on your blog that I did so, and you can return the love.

Ready, Set, Go!

Say it ain’t so…

The past couple of days the fam and I went up to Charlotte to hone in a a place to live. My wife and I have never been huge fans of a mini-van but we rented one to make the trip easier with the kids. Guys…this van was AWESOME! The whole time Carrie and I were figuring out financially how we could buy one!!

The doors on the side opened and shut by the push of a button, it had SO much space inside, the drive was very smooth, it had an ipod hook up, and I felt like a family man and I liked that. Keep an eye out for the Davis Family because we might soon be pimping a sweet mini-van!

What’s the word bird?

If you are in my immediate circle you might already know this news I’m about to share. For those of you who are not, I wanted to fill you in…

The past 6 years of my life I’ve been on staff at Seacoast Church. In those six years I have:

-had great successes

-had really great failures

-been molded by great leaders

-met my wife

-met my best friends

-shared stages with, what I consider, some of the best

-found my calling

This list could go on for many blogs but I’ll keep it to this one. God is moving my family and I out of Charleston and Seacoast and we are joining up with Naeem Fazal at Mosaic Church in Charlotte, NC. I’ll be taking the Worship Pastor position there and I am SO excited about what God is going to do through that body of believers. To any of my Seacoast family…we love you. We’ll miss you more than you’ll ever know.

My last service with Seacoast will be First Wednesday on June 4th. Make sure you are there, I’d love to worship with you all one last time.

Please keep up with all the updates at ORP (one red pilot) of our move and transition to Charlotte.

favor to you,

nate

I’ve decided

My day of birth has come and gone. I put up this post about trying to decide what I wanted to put my b-day money towards. Well I’ve decided and I’m going to get the guitar. This and these are still up if anyone is feeling they want to exercise their love language of gift giving!

What gets ya?

My Pastor talked not long ago about what’s your Popeye moment? For Popeye himself, something would get him boiling and he’d say, “I’ve had all I can stands and I can’t stands it no more!” Then he’d pull out his can of spinach and literally open up a can of whoop a$$.

So I ask you. In the local church, what’s your Popeye moment? What gets you to the boiling point and how do you think we change it?

Fuel Conference

I just finished leading worship for a conference the Young Adult ministry of Seacoast put on called Fuel. It was about 50-60 young kids who desperately want to see God move not only in their personal lives, but in the city of Charleston. It was an excellent weekend of worshipping Jesus and building community. 2 moments that stick out to me the most.

1.) On saturday night watching them write their “secrets” on paper, bring them forward, and put them in a box. Then we sang the song “Search Me, Know Me” and looking out and seeing them seriously do some business with God.

2.) This morning (sunday) John Bolin charged them to not just be a little ministry over in the corner of Seacoast but to take their passion and back and LEAD the church.

Overall a great weekend and to add to it, this was the view from my cabin…

The Big Gift

About 2-3 weeks ago my wife and I were laying in bed talking. I was telling her how I’d been asking myself the question, “have I made a difference?”. You see, we are approaching the end of our time here in Charleston and at Seacoast. The Lord is moving us on up the road to an amazing city in North Carolina called Charlotte (I’ll blog more on this at a later time). As this move approaches I’m looking back over my time and wondering if I’ve been influencing, impacting, and inspiring people for God’s Kingdom. My wife, hearing her husband lament, got a beautiful idea for a gift.

It is a leather bound book. The pages are filled with pictures from the the past and letters from friends about how I’ve made a difference in their life. It took me about 2 minutes of reading before the tears came. It’s the most beautiful gift I’ve received and it’s something I’ll cherish for my lifetime. I thank Jesus for the life He is giving me everyday. For the people I get to share life with, teach, and be taught. If you are reading this and were a part of submitting a letter…Thank You. Your words have filled me to overflowing and have excited me to go into the next season with new faces to meet and new souls to change.

Most of all I thank my wife. Carrie, I could never put into words how you’ve made YOUR man feel. You heard the hurt and questions of the man you love and instead of hoping I’ll pull out of a funk, you went and did something about it. With a beautiful gift you have built me up to a stronger man and have pushed me forward into a better leader for our family and the family of Christ. Thank You.

Thanks to everyone who’s reading this and have shared in a moment of my life I’ll never forget.

Happy Day

Yesterday was my 29th b-day. It was good day. Got some cool presents and always good…money. I’m debating on spending the money on THIS, THESE, or saving it and putting it towards one of THESE. My “big” gift I get sometime today because it wasn’t ready yesterday. Carrie said that she thinks she’s going to cry when she gives it to me, I’m really excited to find out what it is. Once she gives it to me I’ll show all of you the awesomeness…

QUESTION: Is your love language to give or receive gifts?
