Thurs: drive to Charlotte to find a house
Fri: hopefully we found a house and we are firming up the details

If you are in my immediate circle you might already know this news I’m about to share. For those of you who are not, I wanted to fill you in…
The past 6 years of my life I’ve been on staff at Seacoast Church. In those six years I have:
-had great successes
-had really great failures
-been molded by great leaders
-met my wife
-met my best friends
-shared stages with, what I consider, some of the best
-found my calling
This list could go on for many blogs but I’ll keep it to this one. God is moving my family and I out of Charleston and Seacoast and we are joining up with Naeem Fazal at Mosaic Church in Charlotte, NC. I’ll be taking the Worship Pastor position there and I am SO excited about what God is going to do through that body of believers. To any of my Seacoast family…we love you. We’ll miss you more than you’ll ever know.
My last service with Seacoast will be First Wednesday on June 4th. Make sure you are there, I’d love to worship with you all one last time.
Please keep up with all the updates at ORP (one red pilot) of our move and transition to Charlotte.
favor to you,
nate

My Pastor talked not long ago about what’s your Popeye moment? For Popeye himself, something would get him boiling and he’d say, “I’ve had all I can stands and I can’t stands it no more!” Then he’d pull out his can of spinach and literally open up a can of whoop a$$.
So I ask you. In the local church, what’s your Popeye moment? What gets you to the boiling point and how do you think we change it?

I just finished leading worship for a conference the Young Adult ministry of Seacoast put on called Fuel. It was about 50-60 young kids who desperately want to see God move not only in their personal lives, but in the city of Charleston. It was an excellent weekend of worshipping Jesus and building community. 2 moments that stick out to me the most.
1.) On saturday night watching them write their “secrets” on paper, bring them forward, and put them in a box. Then we sang the song “Search Me, Know Me” and looking out and seeing them seriously do some business with God.
2.) This morning (sunday) John Bolin charged them to not just be a little ministry over in the corner of Seacoast but to take their passion and back and LEAD the church.
Overall a great weekend and to add to it, this was the view from my cabin…

I’m sitting here planning the set list for a service I’ve been leading for the past 6 yrs of my life. I’m not a very sentimental person but I’m really having a moment here. Why? Tomorrow night is the last time this service will be done. 6 years worth of Tuesday’s devoted to leading people to the Lord will become “remember when’s?” after tomorrow night. Thinking back over the past 6 yrs one thing stands out to me the most…the beginning.
I was a new worship leader and I had no clue what I was doing. Because of my green-ness I was so reliant on the Lord to get me through the service. Before rehearsals I would take prayer walks for an hour to “get ready” for the night. I would pray my guts out because I knew that if I didn’t…I couldn’t be all that God had me to be for that night. I’d love to tell you that this is still a practice of mine, but it’s not and that’s not cool.
Far to often I rely on my own strength, ability, and skill to get through my Sunday mornings. I wake up Sunday and throw down some prayers in-between sips of coffee on the ride to church…that’s weak. I’m going to get back to that place of desperate need of God to lead people to Him. Not half hearted shout outs asking Him to bless our efforts. I have to get back there, if I don’t, things could get really bad.
Thank you Jesus for this gut check,
nate

I could go into all the details but our Executive Pastor Geoff Surratt did a way better job than I would ever do.

It’s Easter week. This is the week where the whole Christian thing began really. I’ll take ya through Jesus’ week:
SUNDAY: Triumphal entry into Jerusalem (John 12:12-19)
MONDAY: Fig tree withers (Matthew 21: 18-21)/Jesus Clears the temple (Matthew 21:12-17)
TUESDAY: Authority of Jesus questioned (Matthew 21:23-27)/Jesus teaches in the temple (Matthew 21:28-23:29)/Jesus anointed (Matthew 26:6-13)
WEDNESDAY: Plot and betrayal against Jesus (Matthew 26:1-5, 14-16)
THURSDAY: The Last Supper (Matthew 26:17-30, John 13:1-38)/Jesus comforts the disciples (John 14:1-16:33)/Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36-46)
THURSDAY NIGHT AND INTO FRIDAY: Jesus’ arrest and trial (18:2-19:16)
FRIDAY: Crucifixion (John 19:17-30)/Burial (John 19:31-42)
SUNDAY: CHRIST IS RISEN!!! (John 20:1-25)
Quite the week huh!? Jesus’ life was important. His ministry was vital. His death was necessary. If it all stopped there Christianity would have never been birthed. Most likely Jesus would have been remembered as a great teacher/prophet, but then Sunday comes around and there’s an empty tomb. Jesus’ resurrection was and is VICTORY!
I pray your week isn’t focused on the death of Christ. Like I said, it was necessary for the atonement of our screw ups, but His resurrection means LIFE! It doesn’t stop at us just accepting Jesus’ death but believing and living in the resurrection life. I believe it will be a great disappointment if you go through your life not searching out the ABUNDANCE Christ came to give.
I pray THIS for you all,
Nate

YES! Compassion International has sent 15 influential bloggers to Uganda. All of these bloggers have huge online communities and they are using their platform to spread the word about the sponsorship efforts in Uganda. Here are a few of the blogs that I’m following in support:
Ragamuffin Soul
Whittaker Women
Shaun Groves
I urge everyone who tunes into One Red Pilot, to do the same, follow and support a great cause. Spread the word to your friends and if the Lord moves in your heart…SPONSOR A CHILD!
